April should be the busiest month
Hello there peoples!
This month we’ve got lots of shows in NJ and NYC, both big and little as well as some new releases to finally become available, and a lot of other work to be done. Presently, looking for some street teamer to help with Indie Solutions and with Shanghai to Memphis business, as well as booking some Euro and Stateside dates.
Check back later and give us a shout out!

a train ride
There’s a nice new station for the trains in South Amboy. As we slowed down, paused for a couple moments to let some off and let some on, i looked out the window and noticed it. We started to pick up where we left off, the train I was on started rolling forward again, bouncing softly into the Jersey night, darkened windows speckled with the odd streetlight, or the channel markers from the...
Dear Hohner
Dear Hohner, I was totally insulted by the price I had to pay for 2 of your Special 20 Harmonicas yesterday, and I am starting to think that maybe your instruments are not the ones I should be playing. I have been loyal to you for years, have always credited you, and lucky for the both of us, have played them around the world to numerous and diverse audiences. Truly, I wish we could continue our...

had a great time at the National Underground these...
got a couple of last minute gigs thrown at me, the last two nights, that were killer. I’m trying to get myself back into the gigging all the time schedule, or atleast gigging more than I have been. Sometimes, and i went over this in my Chorus and Verse blog, you lose focus in this business and you forget what it is that you love about it in the first place. we’ll take jobs involved in...

Ten Different Memories of the Last Decade List
so, I have decided to make a list, in honor of all these other “lists” we’ll be flooded with in the coming days. Top this, top that, etc, etc. My list will be in no particular order and i will try to write a nice little story about each one…
With luck I’ll have it all done in a few days…
why must I wake up really early, and why must I not feel so good? lame.

poem for home
America. America it is you that i think of, it is your lips that i long to kiss and your song that i want to sing along with. take the high harmony on the chorus, play a harmonica solo before the bridge, shake myself wonderfully to you. Tomorrow i fly out to see you, because you won’t fly in to red bank to see me, but it is cool. i’ll wear a tight little yellow t-shirt...

the swimming deer
i’ve no picture for this, but i just heard a story about a poor deer that left downtown jersey city to jump into the Hudson River and proceeded to swim 2000 yards in the freezing fast moving water to arrive at Governors Island. Upon scrabbling the rocks and getting itself situated on shore, it was greeted by some police dudes with a tranquilizer gun that knocked it out and brought it to a...
Looting through old notebooks
here is an excerpt of something i found in a little blue memo pad…
thinking of myself and then thinking of myself transcending death is like waking and dreaming each night in my slumber take me to the holy bridge and judge me my holy bridge awaits my crossing but i do not cross - instead i join my body again and again that i be born again on you celestial winds to greet new forgiving...
OFFSEASON-Winter Words From the Jersey Shore
here’s the PR
After a year or two of discussions on the subject, poet Chris Rockwell and performer James Dalton are finally bringing a collaberation to the stage in the form of “OFFSEASON-Winter Words From the Jersey Shore”. A pair of Jersey Shore natives, they met and became friends in the poetry readings and open mics of Monmouth County while James was taking time off the...

judy collins
there was a time when i was younger, i was kicked out of my first college somewhere in North Carolina, and at some point i was standing in a flea market somewhere, maybe before or maybe after the whole thing went down, maybe that week, or maybe years later, somewhere near rocky mount, at some flea market or some thrift shop, knowing there was a record player at home, something drew me to some judy...
