the swimming deer
i’ve no picture for this, but i just heard a story about a poor deer that left downtown jersey city to jump into the Hudson River and proceeded to swim 2000 yards in the freezing fast moving water to arrive at Governors Island. Upon scrabbling the rocks and getting itself situated on shore, it was greeted by some police dudes with a tranquilizer gun that knocked it out and brought it to a “nature preserve” in Staten Island.
when asked about the incident, i think the deer had no comment
