got a couple of last minute gigs thrown at me, the last two nights, that were killer. I’m trying to get myself back into the gigging all the time schedule, or atleast gigging more than I have been. Sometimes, and i went over this in my Chorus and Verse blog, you lose focus in this business and you forget what it is that you love about it in the first place. we’ll take jobs involved in the arts or entertainment, as promoters or club managers, stage hands, and A&R assistants, and we think we are pushing forward with our original goals, which we still kinda are, but when you get in front of an audience after so long, and your “out of shape”, it’s sad.
so, i am enjoying this weekend of pick-up shows in NYC. the two National ones were great, played songs that I liked, with a couple people I like and met a lot of wonderful musicians and listeners that I hope to play for again. tonight, is another pick-up gig in Caffe Vivaldi, which has a grand piano, so i got a piano player for the night ;)
